Norwegian Elkhounds (48-55 pounds) are bold, loyal, and energetic, ideal for active owners. They’re good with kids when socialized but may be too robust for toddlers. High exercise (1-2 hours daily, hunting or hiking) suits them; their thick coat needs frequent brushing.
Feed 2-3 cups daily of Royal Canin Medium Breed Adult Dry Dog Food, with 25% protein for their energy and coat health. Monitor portions to avoid obesity. Best for outdoor living in cooler climates with indoor access, they’re not for apartments or hot regions.
